 Mike Barris & Friends

Vintage Jazz and Blues

Mike Barris & Friends play exciting prewar jazz and blues - a fact they've been demonstrating regularly at the Woman's Club of Red Bank for the past five years as a top attraction of the JSJBF's Reckless Steamy Nights concert series. Led by Barris, who plays propulsive, driving rhythm guitar, the band also includes the dynamic talents of vocalist Jennifer Jordan, trumpeter Tom Bender, and guitarist Doug Clarke. A must for fans of Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong and Django Reinhardt!

 Ron Sunshine & His Orchestra

Blues/Swing

Imagine how the jump-swing bands of the '30s and '40s would sound filtered through the sensibilities of a generation raised on rock and roll. Take a healthy dose of Rhythm & Blues, New Orleans funk, and downhome harmonica stomps; mix with the classics from the era of Gershwin, Cole Porter, Louis Jordan, Nat King Cole, and Fats Waller; stir in an ever-growing portion of strong original material, and you come up with FULL SWING.
